Econ Major At The UW?

I got accepted into the CS department at UW, which is a great opportunity because it is in the top 10 CS schools in the nation, also because Seattle is a software capitol. But my end goal is being a lawyer, thus CS seems sort of irrelevant and unable to prepare me well for practicing law. That is why I am reconsidering a change to an ECON major. Unfortunately, though, the UW is not high ranked in this department , if at all depending on where you look at.

UW Ranking
34 - USNWR
39 - Rankings at IDEAS: Economics Departments

How big of a difference in education is the ECON major at the UW, compared to that of an Ivy or equivalent school?

If it is of any importance, my dream is to attend law school in new york, preferably NYU or Columbia, in corporate, business, or "those that involves money"? Another related topic, would $250k for undergrad at NYU for ECON be worth it, afterall knowledge of economics could potentially make you very wealthy.

UW is 31st in econ/bus according to ARWU.

Law schools don’t care what your major is. If you’re into computer science, major in computer science and then go to law school. I attended one of your dream law schools, and I majored in philosophy. My law school friends majored in English, classics, engineering, etc.
