hey AA and any other current cmu students. i'm in hss and i plan on majoring in economics so that i can be dually part of hss and tepper. can i have a approximate idea of what classes i should be taking fall and spring semesters of freshman year. the more specific the better.

also, i don't want to overwork myself with too many hard classes (a lesson i learned the hard way in high school)

It will be almost pre-determined for you but I hear they are making changes to the major (not requiring Princ. of Econ first semester).

Because of said changes, no one can really tell you what to take. Don't worry though because CMU will tell you what to do (there is no "wrong path" freshmen year since almost all your courses count towards your major; even electives).

There are also no such thing as "hard classes" when you've got stuff like seminar, history, stat, math, and interp. I would say programming can be hard if you start off at advanced and dont' know what you are doing and Princ of Econ with Klepper can be challenging.

i'm not sure, but i remember you saying Principles of Economics w/ Klepper was a very interesting class...i don't remember everything you said but i remember being very intent on getting Klepper for principles of economics my freshman year

It is challenging but I can honestly say I learned more from Klepper's class than I have ever learned in high school combined.
