Econ. or Business major Business school?

Which major do you think will help me better prepare for MBA program?

Some people say doing a Business Major as undergrad will help me in Graduate School because I will already have some background knowledge on its field.

On the other hand, many people also say that doing a Economics Major is more useful because then I wouldn't just be focused on one concentration of area (business) that I will study in graduate school anyway, and having some economics background knowledge will help me apply some of its concept to combine it with Business, thus providing me with better insight on its concept.

I know that major isn't really a factor for admission to a Business School (I've seen people who majored in Art getting into a Business School). However, whenever I check out the major for the MBA students, most of the are split between Economics and Business.

I like both majors equally.
I really like UCLA, but one thing that disappoints me is that it doesn't have a business administration major like USC. However, they do have an excellent Economics Program. So I'm trying to choose between majors, which will also determine which university I'll be putting my focus on transferring (Yup, I'm a transfer student).

What's your suggestion?

Well since your choices are UCLA vs. USC, it depends what you're looking for. Personally, I LOVE the strength of the trojan network. After attending events at both schools, I came away more impressed with USC's support for undergrads.

Marshall students breath and live business and while UCLA's biz econ program is great, I don't know if there is the same dedication as you'd see at Marshall.
