Economics a safe choice?

I am currently a junior at Syracuse University and thinking about switching to economics. I have plans of going to grad school and possibly also getting an MBA. However, If I don't get into grad school what are the employment prospects for a person with a bachelors degree in economics?

A Baccalaureate in Econ will get you a job in banking, analysis or any number of fields which are business related. The New Yorker says it’s the degree to have (apart from Engineering).

How hard would it be to get a job in those fields? I have heard that the reputation of your school greatly affects employment opportunities in business fields.

Bump, same question
