I just got into Hillsdale. I have been looking into the college in detail now and I really like what I saw. I have a query though. Can someone tell me about the EBA(Economics & Business Administration) dept? Is the college reputed? What about my job opportunities after graduating? Pls help me!

I’ve been recruiting at colleges across the country since before the current seniors at Hillsdale were born. I will honestly and without bias say that I’m most impressed with the way the Hillsdale students learn to think and articulate their ideas. This is incredibly important to hiring authorities. Many organizations recruit at Hillsdale. You won’t wait for somebody to hire you though. You’ll learn to be proactive about your career/job search in order to find the best fit. Also, there will be excellent networking opportunities.

Well, thank you very much. I can’t deny I was anxious about job opportunities and acads at Hillsdale. There were loads of people here at CC who told me straight that they hadn’t even heard of Hillsdale. That kinda got me scared. Now I cant really wait to go there.

Hillsdale is a unique institution among all colleges in the US. The fact that “people” haven’t heard of it means they may be somewhat uneducated about colleges. Don’t let that scare you off.

Momoftwins (HI!) will set you straight on Hillsdale. The academics are tough, the people fantastic, the campus gorgeous, the tuition and fees relatively reasonable, and the opportunities, endless - but like all colleges: you will only get out of it what you put into it.

That is certainly true. What about opportunities for internships? Is there any Hillsdale student here? :)

There are some internships at the Heritage Foundation (I believe Hillsdale has what they call the WHIP program). I do not believe that most Hillsdale students do internships, since they would be considered “vocational” in nature.

neethu,

First of all Congratulations!! Hillsdale has been receiving more and more applications each year. I have 3 children and they each had very different interests, so we visited lots of colleges/universities. They each settled into the place that was right for them. One is at a service academy, one is at a Big 10 school and the youngest started at Hillsdale this year. I can honestly say that if I had a chance to go back to school, I think Hillsdale would be the place to receive an all-around liberal arts education that can’t be beat. My son has loved every minute there and truly appreciates the core curriculum. He has friends at other schools who will never take a philosophy course, or study any of the classics in literature and not even know what they’re missing. I’ve met several of his friends and they are very happy with the Hillsdale experience.

My son isn’t looking into internships yet as he has his regular summer job that he wouldn’t want to give up.
