Im in college, and unfortunately the economics class is full, the class is essential to my major, should i email him and ask him if i could be waitlisted? and for him to notify me if anyone drops the course?

Or you can attend the first day of class and ask for an add code.

Persistence pays off. If you can't get waitlisted and your schedule can accomodate it, show up to the first day of class and see if you can get added. If you can't but it looks optimistic, keep showing up --- some professors will allow you to add if anyone else drops.

check every couple of hrs to c if someone had dropped the class.

i checked at least 80 times to get into my ochem class, and the class opened up at 1:24 AM one night.

dude, highschoolda, i took your advice, your a genius! it did open up, ha! i never knew it would happen but it did and know im extremely happy!

glad it worked out. yeah i have so much expirience in chasing class openings. At my ccc some classes get filled within an hour of enrollment. there are 32000 registered students. People who are in scholars/eops get those classes. Luckily, some of the bigger and less important class open up b/c things come up in people's lives or they just forget to pay for them.

See if your school offers a RSS feed and download an aggregator and put it in your desktop...during my last semester I was desperately trying to get in class and my school offered an (almost) real time update for its course schedule....it updated as soon as someone dropped and I got in. This way you don't have to access the website every time.
