Hey guys, I know that CU has one of the best econs faculty around. but do people like stiglitz, bhagwati and mundell actually teach undergrads?

Stiglitz is teaching Econ W1105 this fall according to the Columbia College on-line bulletin.
http://www.college.columbia.edu/bulletin/depts/econ.php?tab=courses

yea he's teaching principles of econ in the fall -- but how come it says B. O'Flaherty as teaching the with him too? i searched O'Flaherty on CULPA, and a lot of students had negative feedback about him...any info?

Stiglitz is a bit of a snob, the only member of the econ staff (including mundell and baghwati) to say that office hours are by appointment only. Baghwati gives guest lectures now and then in certain econ classes, but he's usually busy with research and writing. Mundell is similar.

For those investigating econ at Columbia, you might be interested in the new faculty hires listed on the department's website. This has been a department that has had difficulty meeting the swell in student demand, and it has been adding faculty like mad.
