I did not apply to Wharton but applied to Arts and Sciences and was going to major in Economics and minor in something else. I did not apply to Wharton as I wanted liberal arts and then planned to work two years after college and then apply to business school. Does anyone know what it is like to be an economics major at Penn and not be at Wharton? I was under the impression that I could still take some courses at Wharton

The economics major at Penn is good. It is a major that is easy to customize - for example, I wanted a statistics/math macro focus, and that is what I have taken. I know others who delve into game theory and micro more, and yet others that take a wider breadth of courses.

Yes, you can still take Wharton courses, and being an economics major does not put you at a disadvantage in recruiting - ocr is open to all.

Thank you for getting back to me with an answer. That was very helpful
