Economics major?

Hello,
I am currently a freshman music major at the University of South Carolina. After a recent wake up call, I have to decided to pursue a "safer" career path. After a lot of thought and research, I've landed in economics as a possible major. I have a 4.0 so far and plan on keeping my gpa around there, was wondering what my chances are with a BA in economics from a state college or if it wise to transfer? Also, would like some opinions on how useful/useless a minor in music would be, and if I should take a few extra classes or just keep it as a hobby. Thanks in advance!

If you like music so much why not continue it. It’s good that you have also thought about your career path and it’s ok to change majors. If you are currently enjoying South Carolina and its affordable I see no reason for a transfer. You can always move on to higher education or prove yourself in the business world. If I were you, I would minor in music or even double major if possible. Keep up the good work and you’ll be fine.

Thanks or the reply! I’ve started looking into double majoring, and it looks like a possibility as I can get both degrees as a B.A
