So I've heard a lot about Economics classes at UT, mostly bad (they're weed out classes). I'm really hoping to somehow get an A in Eco (although I've heard it's almost impossible) but seeing as I'm a business major I'm going to have to take macro and micro sooner than later. I have the choice between Hamermesh, Hickenbottom, Sibley, Wiseman, and Paal (micro). I'm leaning towards Hamermesh right now, although I heard Sibley and Wiseman are easier but both of their classes are in the evenings. If anybody has any knowledge about these professors your opinions would get great! Thanks!

Hammermesh and Hickenbottom are equally difficult.

I’ve heard wonderful things about Hammermesh in general, but I took Hickenbottom last semester. It was a tough class, but I pulled off an A-.

I wouldn’t say that the Intro Econ classes are “weed out”, I would say that they are actually taken seriously when compared to other schools.
