Does anyone know how good of an instructor Prof. Hamermesh is? I was added to his class off of the waiting list and previously had Giovani but Iv'e heard that Hamermesh is a prof. who should be avoided!

Does anyone know anything about him or have taken his class?

After searching this forum, people have said that Hamermesh is a great professor, but his classes have a low A percentage.

Hammermesh is an outstanding professor and an authority in his field. He’s not going to give you an easy A but he’s very accessible, something you can’t say about a lot of professors that has his kind of name recognition. He does talk quickly and the class covers a pretty broad range of materials so sit close to the front and take a lot of notes.

If you want an easy A, don’t take his class. But if you just want to pad your gpa then you’re in college for the wrong reasons. If you’re taking micro for business or if you’re an economics major I would highly recommend him though.

Thanks you guys, I do like the fact that he is approachble so I’m hoping I can get some extra help in Micro since I’m trying to transfer to McCombs.
