Economics vs. Management Degree vs. Something else

I rarely write or post anything here, but I don't know where else to go to get advice.

I go to a 2nd tier university that's better known for medicine. I was thinking about either becoming a management consultant or doing something in HR (if consultancy is too stressful). Should I get a BA in Economics (Wayne state doesn't offer a BS) or a BA or BS in Management?

The university has a 5 year Masters degree program for certain majors. I'm already a year ahead with AP credits, so I could get a Masters in Economics in 4 years. Should I do that if I'm not going to have much work experience?

Here are some factors that influence my indecisiveness: I work at a call center where I talk to alumni to get them to donate money. Half the economics majors I've spoken to are unemployed. A handful of people are not very representative of all alumni, but it got me worrying. I get that Econ is a versatile major, though I feel like that only applies at top schools. At the same time, I'm finding no data on the unemployment rate/salaries for people with management degrees.

The third choice is not majoring in either. I would love a career where I can contribute ideas on how to improve things and even have the power to do it (e.g. I was thinking about designing a sifting cat litter box before I learned that they already existed). An MC is the closest thing I can find, though I'd love to hear about any other career options.
