I’m a sophomore and I’m thinking about switching to Econ from Stats . I either want to be a teacher (I would want to teach math) or go into economic consulting, but I’m more towards the teaching side. The thing is I’m scared I won’t be able to pull off a 3.0 with a stats major since credential programs ask for that min gpa and stats major seems freakish hard… with both I’d be able to graduate a year early too. Advice?
Would teacher credentialing for math require a major in math or substantial math course work?
I’m live in CA and I believe so, but I wasn’t sure if statistics would count for that requirement? If not, I would consider majoring in economics and possibly minoring in math? Would a minor suffice?
