<p>I don't have a lot of help, but I'll answer just to bump your questions. I am assuming you are a HS student. My S just graduated from Penn in economics. He first encountered economics via a HS AP class in 10th grade. The teacher entered the kids in a state economics competition (this was in Georgia), which my son and 3 classmates won. In the process, my son learned he loved it. He is now working as an economist in DC.</p>
<p>I don't know if you qualify for any of the "Gifted and Talented" programs out there -- they do offer classes in economics and related subjects during the summer. Does your school offer a Governor's program? Since you're in NJ, you might want to look specifically at what the Univ's in your area offer -- maybe even Princeton or Penn have programs for high schoolers. I know Columbia, for examples, has a high school internship program.</p>
