<p>I've always been interested with the profiles of students at schools of Columbia's academic caliber. Out of interest I pose this question to current students. What are some of the most amazing high school extracurriculars/activities you have heard fellow students doing? My friend who is applying to college next year wants to get a general idea of how she stacks up against others (her stats are otherwise fine). Thank you.</p>
<p>At my alma mater (a peer to Columbia), we didn’t speak about our HS accomplishments at all. I knew students who were athletes – but that’s about it.</p>
<p>Your friend doesn’t need to exert energy comparing her list of ECs to admitted students’ list of ECs (if you really want to do that, go to the RD Decisions thread Class of '17 or '16 – they are at the top of this thread list). Schools like Columbia aren’t admitting/rejecting kids for what they’ve done but rather who they’ve become.</p>
<p>It’s a fools’ errand to compare EC lists.</p>
