I’m sort of late to the college acceptance game. I’ve planned on going to Clemson all my life, but with my latest SAT I’ve seen that I can do a little better. Anyways, I’m at the end of my Junior year and all I have extracurricular wise is a Beta club officer position, the Theory of Knowledge club, tutoring a kid outside of school, and my highly competitive soccer club team. Not much, eh? Am I up the creek?
I plan on getting a job and volunteering 200+ hours at a hospital this summer. I don’t know how to “create a focus,” but I plan on getting really involved next year and gaining a leadership position. I know this year of me doing nothing on paper will hurt bad, but is it too late to save face?
btw, GPA UW = 3.75
AP Courses: AP US & LitComp; Next year: AP Bio, Econ, Euro, Lit

its never too late to save face and having something on the EC section is definitely better than having nothing. Even volunteering 1 day for something can be listed and it would defintely look better than an empty slot.

You play soccer and you tutor, combine those and work at a soccer camp, either paid or volunteer, this summer and in the fall. Or become a referee and ref little kids games. That way, if you don't get a leadership position, you will actually have done something that requires leadership. My Ds both played soccer- and one coached and one refd. It was really fun and gave them skills they could use. It will look good because it won't necessarily look like you are trying to find something to pad resume, it fits with your other stuff. And it can be really fun...leauges are always looking for refs and assistant coaches
