ECs: Need improvement?

I was just looking for any feeback on my extracurriculars for next year [sophomore year]. Any suggestions??

Might do Amnesty and a sport

NHS as a sophomore? I thought it was just jrs and srs...but I guess every school is different.

Looks solid, especially if you keep in the sport. Also, when applying to college it's important to explain what clubs with unclear names do (such as your Interact Club). If the adcoms don't know what it is, they won't pay any attention to it.

My only ECs sophomore year were theater and speech (which I sucked at) and church-related activities. I wasn't even taking cello lessons at the time. Good for you that you've already got so much going! (Now you just have to keep the grades up.)

Well we get inducted into NHS at the end of sophomore year, really. And I'm not in a sport yet but I was thinking of trying one. I'm not sure where I wanna go but I like schools like Georgetown, Tufts, Wesleyan, etc.

Looks good to me! I got in NHS as soph (this past spring) too. A sport is always a good addition as well. But definitely go into explanition if you can on certain activities.

What do you do for National Honors Society?

There are chapters of NHS at most high schools. You have to have minimum gpa to be inducted and you do service projects, tutoring, etc. it's nothing special to colleges but it's still to good to be part of.

NHS is a big deal to get into at my school (end of junior year) but once you're in it's nothing. Then again, most clubs at my school never meet.

You are fine...what is your primary interest outside of clubs? I hope you are actually enjoying all that.
