I'm currently a freshman at CWRU and I'm planning to transfer for the fall of my junior year. I'm considering applying to Penn, Northwestern, Georgetown and maybe a couple of other schools. If I can keep up my grades, my GPA will be between 3.7-3.8 when I transfer. I should have a very good essay, solid recs, good reasons for transferring, my HS stats were competitive as well (3.8 GPA and 29 ACT but I'm thinking about retaking it later this summer). The only thing that really worries me is my lack of EC's. I play a varsity sport, do some volunteer work, probably will join a club or two next fall. I have a part-time job too which I've held since high school (at least 12 hours a week). I used to think I was OK but compared to some other people who post here, my EC's look below average. Do you think they are really important and I should try and get more involved or should I just focus on academics? It's hard to do both at Case because the workload is really heavy, plus I'm a commuter. Anyway, any input will be appreaciated.
