Founder of an AIDS relief org. (2 years) We raise funds through car washes/school events/community events and send the earnings to national orgs./research. Are meetings also consist of educating people about HIV/AIDS. We volunteer at free clinincs where many young adults go in for testing.
Cofounder of the GSA at my school. We started it freshman year after my best friend's unfortunate incident at homecoming. He was suspended for going with a guy. We work as a support group and safety zone. We reach out to those who cannot feel comfortable with their sexuality and this group overall aims to end discrimination of homosexuals at school. We hold dances, theater events, group activities as say, the movies, dinner, etc. We also have raised about $2000 last year and donated half to the national GSLB org. We also participate in protests such as Day of Silence.
