EC's...

Who else has zero EC's??? (not including work) Please don't let me be the only one...

lol ecs… does court ordered community service count?? if not i’ve got nothing :)

Do ECs really matter if you aren’t borderline and your major isn’t impacted? just curious

Unless you’re applying to something like Haas school of business at Berkeley then it isn’t really important.

LOL

rpicton- probably not but problem is that i am borderline

LOL well personally I wouldnt mention that it was court ordered

I have 0 currently and plan to have it that way by the time I apply. I think they are overrated and not worth the effort you put in.

While they may not help you admissions wise, it will immensely help you when applying for scholarships.

i’m applying to haas but i dont have much ECs. i think it’s a waste of time. i think it’s just for people who want to justify their low grades. but some schools like haas want ECs so i’m doing student govt and hopefully an internship in the winter (since my CC has no winter session i have nothing better to do)

^ haha i feel like you and i are the same person. because im doing the same thing and am in the same situation.

were are you going to try and intern at?

dont laugh, but disneyland lol. in the customer/guest service division. i’m kinda selfish so i need to get paid for my work. disneyland is the only one i found that pays for internships.

nice i think ill try and find something at a bank. idc if it pays or not though i do not really need the money now just the experience.

I have near 0 EC’s. :expressionless:
well, I feel a tad better now.

I’m bout to start volunteering at the CA Academy of Science in the Natural History Dept. It will pair perfectly with my Anthropology major.

what kind of EC’s are good for a business admin major?

looking to transfer to haas

oh man I was on the same boat two weeks ago. Be VERY aggressive finding your EC, esp. if you’re applying to cal/ucla. I had to contact 5 clinics before getting my position. And plus, little_duck, I have to disagree with you. The main purpose of doing ECs is showing interest and developing it. I would have totally agree with you two weeks prior though but I found some cool things doing my EC. I do think some ECs are pointless though.
