My stats (brief):
Major: Journalism
UW GPA: 3.77
ACT: 30; 31 superscore
6 APs by the end of senior year
I toured BU once then attended the BU NECIR program (summer journalism program). I’m from Louisiana, so I think visiting campus twice really showed my level of interest. I also contacted my regional admissions rep and met with him twice. I think I had pretty strong essays. My advice to anyone applying for the class of 2023 would be to sound genuine in your essays. Good luck to everyone next year!

Anyone applied for the Economics major at CAS?
is anyone else not able to access the BU Portal. It says my username cannot be identified, but I know for sure it is my email.

Hey everybody. Congratulations on your acceptances! I just applied RD (submitted December 29), and am now reading all the BU threads. I am seeing a lot of discussion about the “thank you” vs “our records indicate” language, and I am confused about WHERE this key language would appear & matter. When I got an email from BU on January 2 giving me instructions to set up an Applicant Link, the email said “Thank you for applying.” When, on January 2, I set up my Applicant Link, I clicked on the “application status” link and noticed they only need my Mid-Year Report. I didn’t read the introductory salutation on that page. Now that I’ve read all these threads, I went back into my Applicant Link and clicked on “application status” again. The introductory salutation (above where it says they need my Mid-Year Report) says “our records indicate.”
My question is: is this normal language for this early in the University’s process of review? Doesn’t every applicant’s portal initially say “our records indicate?” Basically, does everyone’s initially say that and are you saying that at some point down the road, that language will change?
Please help. I am freaking out all of a sudden.
