What is easier to get in ED, CALS or CAS?? I know there is a high ED rate of 43% but I want to know by separate college?

What do you want to major in, what are your interests? These determine which college you should choose.

students who choose the college by acceptance rate get rejected more often, because the lack of correlation between their interests is very evident.

Every single person who replies to this thread will tell you not to choose the college by acceptance rate.

If your interests are completely focused on biological sciences, and biology and related courses were you absolute favorite throughout all of high school go to CALS.

However, if you love biology, but want to have more of an opportunity to pursue your various interests, then CAS is right for you.

Part of a successful Cornell application is convincing the admissions board that you are applying to the right school for you!!

If they feel that you are not a good fit for the school you are applying to, your application has a very small chance of being successful.

Yeah, biology has not been my life, however, I am more of a well rounded candidate.

does that mean you're leaning toward CAS?

I suppose so. That is I am going to send supplementary materials as most of my ec's are non-biology related so it would be more preferable towards CAS.

-thanks for your help.

glad you see the light :) best of luck!

Bump

lol

what else do you need to know?

if you're from new york CALS is easier since it is a state endowed school (around 50% of CALS is from ny). otherwise if ur from out of state i'd say CAS is a bit easier if at all.

I beieve CAS has the lowest overall acceptance rate of any cornell college. However, as said above, pick your college for interets, not acceptance rate, unless both colleges serve you EQUALLY. If you choose CALS your application will have to be more "my life is bio" oriented which sounds like it would be difficult for you.

CAS doesn't have the lowest overall acceptance rate of any cornell college. AAP has the lowest I believe. Anyway, you should apply for the college you are the most interested in.

ah yes, you're probably right, since AAP is like "yay big" (---------------)
