So, with less than three weeks left until the ED deadline, I thought I'd freak everyone out a little more...

I'm aware that these "chance" threads guarantee next to nothing, but it'd be refreshing to get some outside perspective on if I've completely lost my mind.

Did summer internship/research at UT-HSC, part of the Texas Medical Center

Awards:
1. Scholastic Writing Awards Gold Key and Honorable Mention (interstate awards; Gold Key put me in national judging pool)
2. Had fiction published in internationally recognized literary magazine (7% acceptance rate)
3. Will be published in research paper (forthcoming 2014)
4. National Merit Semifinalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, honor roll, all that jazz...
5. State-level piano recognition
6. Accepted to competitive writing conference, but ultimately couldn't attend...:(
7. Some smaller regional/city-wide things that would take too long to write out
8. The YoungArts competition for creative writing (oh God...) -- the deadline for submissions is the 18th, and winning anything is a pretty big deal (think Siemens/Intel STS, but for fine arts). I won't be notified of my standing until Thanksgiving, but I'm listing it on my application as "Applied, waiting for notification." Maybe the Cornell officers will be impressed by my gumption...? Lol.

Essays:
Common App -- I won't go into detail, but the teachers who have read it have said it's "pretty amazing." I'm fairly certain that it'll stand out.
CAS Supplement -- Not much creativity went into it...just talked about my love for writing (mostly) and some other academic things.

Recommendations:
One from English teacher should be stellar; one from math teacher should be pretty good. I'm also getting one from the editor of one of the lit mags I work for, and she knows me pretty well.

So...what do you guys think...?
