Hi guys, I actually posted this before but I’m looking for some chances for specific ED Schools I am applying to. I’m currently planning ED1 to UPenn Wharton and ED2 NYU Stern. I frankly love both schools and would be honored to go to either.
GPA (Cumulative) : 3.8 UW and ~4.1ish W. I go to a very competitive high school so I am only in the top 30% there (not trying to rant or get sympathy, just providing some insight)
SAT : 2210 (800 M, 760 W, 650 R)
SAT II : Math Level 2 - 800
Physics - 750
Course rigor :
7 Total APs including BC Calc, Econ (Micro and Macro which make it 8), Spanish, Physics C this year. I received 4s on the AP Computer Science, Statistics, and Physics 1 exams. Otherwise my course rigor is pretty high and solid.
Extra Curriculars (What I believe to be my strong point) :
DECA - Only done in Junior Year. Couldn’t carry on in Senior Year due to new regulations and scheduling conflicts.
Unnamed club - Club (which I can’t give out the name without giving away my school) that partners with local non-profits and small businesses and allows the students to help the owners/managers to improve their business. I helped a small business grow in terms of social media presence, and community presence. Also can’t participate in this club this year due to issues with schedule.
Civil Air Patrol - Volunteer organization part of the United States Air Force. Conducts over 90% of all Search and Rescue within the domestic United States. I joined in 7th grade after my mom was diagnosed with a potentially life-ending disease (She’s fine now, knock on wood ) and it helped me get out of a dark place. I rose through the ranks and now am the Cadet Commander of my Squadron and in the top 15% of Cadets worldwide (in terms of rank). Joined because of my passion for aviation. Learned a lot about leadership through this program.
I am also planning on starting my own investment fund focused solely on stocks. Possibility of introducing it as a club and allowing students to learn from lesson plans.
Student Pilot - I’ve always loved planes. I taught myself how to fly a plane using a simulator at the age of 9. I first piloted an aircraft at 11 and have been learning and loving the hobby ever since. Because I started so young I find it easier to fly than to drive!
Baseball - Two years on JV and one on Varsity. Won Most Improved Player Sophomore Year and Coaches award Junior Year. Really love the sport. Definitely allowed me to learn alot about myself and my ability to improve.
Jobs - I was a Finance Intern at a major software company. I developed a tool for the company that helped them gain a lot of money (can’t go into detail about this with you guys, but I have in my college essays)
Again, I’d really appreciate the feedback for Wharton and Stern for Early Decision 1 and 2 respectively. I believe my essays are looking really solid, I’m just concerned about the grades (and I guess I’m having that senior stress right now)
Thanks!
