Do I stand a chance for ED?

you've got great academic awards and superbly rounded ecs. perfect gpa and SAT IIs... what else can you ask for!!

i'm guessing that the SAT can be an impediment to your otherwise great chances.. wonder why many people with great stats end up having poor SAT scores...

It's because these kinds of people don't bother to study for something as inaccurate and corporate-washed as the SATs. They have better things to do.

is my SAT score too low for an international to be considered or does my ecs and other academics make up for it?

It just depends on how prestigious your awards are. Are any of those on the national level? You seem like a typical asian applicant, who's strong in sciences but not that great in languages. I'm still very impressed though

All the math challenges+ olympiads are at national level. I am also pretty strong at languages. I made it into a chinese language class exclusively for chinese students (im korean) and managed to get 99% on my terminal exams. I also speak fluent korean, english and german.

id say solid chances, but SATs are very low. depends on who else applies from ur country, id say. SAT I scores might inhibit ur ability to edge other asians out from the applicant pool

bump..(10 char)

Do you go to school in US?
I am kind of confused because you say you go to Korean school on Saturday but why do you need to do that if you are in Korea already

I think your SAT I score is ok for international applicant. I bet you just didn't do well on the reading and writing sections. If you don't have the background (like going to an American school in Korea, or go to school in the States, or have like parents who apparently speak English to you at home) then I think 1830 is pretty acceptable.

wow, how the heck were you able to keep up all those multiple of sports, music, science, math, interships, works, and etc etc and in such a various places!?
..... I really cannot believe my eyes looking at your stats!! @_@

aaaaaaand I'm depressed again.

jk

But seriously, that's amazing.

I live in Hong Kong. And yeah, my writing section was quite low. I just couldnt get to SAT prep class with all my ec's going on.

1830/2400 is very low for princeton. u have lots of ecs, but that doesn't necessarily warrant that score. a lot of ppl dont take prep classes and just self-study and do well. still, obviously great ecs..u have decent chance
whats the breakdown for that sat?

What's the purpose of SAT? Obviously, it's used to make sure that students are smart and can learn. The average SAT score of Pton is largely based on people who at least completed their high school in US, and a high SAT score just shows that they learn things well. This person is apparently very smart and I am sure he can catch up his English very fast as long as he lives in the States for few years. I don't see why Pton would not accept this person only because of his SAT score. I mean, seriously, are people who can't speak English just stupid or something?

1830...sorry you are rejected...simply because you won't be able to handle the high level of English used in conversation, reading, and classes at Princeton...it's not just the score itself, it's the fact that you won't be able to handle the college

are u a bad test taker?

but ur subject tests are excellent

What is your 50m breastroke time?

so is it most likely that i will b accepted/deferred/rejected ???
vote!!

Accepted!

Don't worry man. Have faith.

Ouch @ your SAT score...and your being an international student won't help either. You might also want to condense your ECs list more, instead of making it a laundry list.
