Where should i be applying?

Do you need fin aid?

no. i dont need any fin aid

i mean fin aid is important if you are an international student, however i believe your SAT is quite low. I mean I'm korean just like you ( i think you are) however you should think of taking the SAT one more time in December before you apply

yeah...try to git a bit higher in your SAT....and btw what sort of schools and courses are you targetting?

RETAKE the SAT 1(Cannot emphasize this more!!). If you can get an SAT score of above 2100. You can apply to any college you want and chances are you'll get in.

You don't necessarily have to retake the SAT. It depends on your subscores. If you are close to perfect in math and have low English scores (because it's not your native language) and you are likely not to improve these scores, then don't retake it. Otherwise do.

As an international without financial need you definately have a huge advantage. That may even give you an edge above US kids (internationals without financial need are some sort of URM) if you don't apply to schools that are need-blind for intls (better forget about HPYM).

You can go to the best colleges. Retake SAT. I assume that your CR is low. Perhaps getting a high TOEFL might be beneficial to you.

qwerty, I honestly think you should apply to any college in which you're interested. you have a wonderful shot. If I had been swayed by all the stuff I saw on CC, I wouldn't have applied to the college I attend now. I had no clue I'd get in, and your stats are way better than mine.
Btw, I know someone with triple 800 on the SAT II and an SAT score about the same as yours who's at Yale. Who said the SATs are everything, anyway?

and no fin aid needed is a big plus, forget the fact that schools are need blind or not.

Areally good advice Jrock............I was looking for something of that sort...

yeah me too....It is about time I get some encouragements here....thanks Jrock

infact SAT's a blady crap.....

^^ lol you hit the nail right on the head shail.....IT really is mayn!

but the irony is...it is what counts considerably....and by god i hate that so bad....

its like this .... I will tell you my SAT story
Writing: 730, Range:690-770
Reading:710, Range:680-740
Math:760, Range:730-790
Total:2200, Range:2100-2300.

This means that essentially anybody getting between 2100-2300 is the same(a difference of getting 1-2 extra questions right). Colleges know that and its high time people understood that too. If you can get a decent score, it doesn't matter anymore.

Laksya M:ya,an excellent point.............I was also wondering that thing......how the hell ppl give out there to-the-point marks if they r already defined in a range.........

anyways sat's a piece of crap for me...

ya...true for me too.....

lol...i guess there are many others who feel the same...not quite sure about the majority of CC members though....
