Son wants to apply to Middlebury ED I. Is being recruited for swimming (went 2 weekends ago, met the team, stayed on campus, 2nd visit) and has the coach's support; is also a water polo player. From the Pacific Northwest, ACT 31 (will take again this month), weighted Class rank - top 6% at a very competitive public high school (17th of 302), Top in state in voice, show choir, A Capella choir, GPA 3.7 unweighted, 3.95 weighted, outstanding community service and recommendations (on the city's Board of Directors for the Library, city-council appointed, 100's hours volunteering). LOVES THIS SCHOOL!!! What do you think of his chances? THANKS!

If he can get that ACT score up a bit, he’ll be in an excellent position for ED. Good luck to him!

Sounds like my s, only better, and he is a freshman now. Very similar grades- yours a bit lower but same percentile-ish, same ACT and with the water polo and swimming, unless he can’t write an essay, I think you can be as confident as anyone. I wouldn’t repeat the ACT if it will cause stress, or is unlikely to go up more than a point. He’s good.PM me to hear all.
