ED class of 2020

I applied Ed too… does anyone know what time they’ve sent decisions in the past???

Do you know if they sent they send out an email saying when they send the actual decisions? My friends from other schools got emails like that

My D found out around 5pm EST and yes they send an email. :slight_smile:

They send an email day of? Or when they post on pathway?

@newjersey17 The updated version for that document for 2014-15 says 42%

if you ED and get in but then realize you can’t afford the college after receiving no merit based aid, is there any way to opt out?

Yes @kobe24mamba you can opt out

@2016gradyay can i opt out even if I didn’t apply for financial aid? I am only applying for need based aid, but my parents are not sure if they want to spend over 60K

@ForwardAlways I have already started looking at other colleges that interest me and have found that this really does take my thoughts off of WashU. There are a bunch of schools out there for you even tho WashU is obviously preferred. Also, it could help if u stopped checking your college confidential as often, since it just reminds you of college apps and creates unnecessary tension to just keep checking. In addition, make sure your family is around you when you check your decision. Personally, I wanted to check it myself and then show my parents bcz I knew I would most likely be disappointed. However, I thought about it and realized that either way it is better to have people there to support you. Lastly, just realize that if you have the ambitions/drive in the first place to apply to WashU then I’m sure you will end up going to an equally great school if you get deferred/rejected. Good luck and stop worrying!

Did any of you guys meet your admissions rep?

@kobe24mamba from my understanding, I thought that one could only opt out of their family truly could not pay. If they have the money but aren’t willing they are still supposed to attend. I’m sure if you spoke to them there might be a way out.

@HiddenCholo I did

Does somebody actually get deferred for money reasons? I applied with full financial need and I didn’t know that…
