Yeah I know! I’m also applying for FA but I am pretty low income so I’ll probably be high need. I hope that doesn’t hurt me too much. By the way Haverford has that policy of no loan along with some even more selective schools that I’m not looking at. Also Emory has a really good policy. It’s no loan under 50k and 15k loan max(meaning over four years) for 50k-100k yearly family income. I’m not sure about my ED 2 but it’ll probably be Bates or Grinnell at this point. How does your sister like richmond? Also have you visited the Connecticut liberal arts schools? You’re from there right? And I don’t know but I don’t think it’s normal for schools to release that info until decisions are made. I’ve seen articles released from schools after making decisions but never before. I’m not sure though and if you want you could ask admissions.

And yeah definitely hope it works our for both of us! Well know in less than a month. I’d be so happy to be admitted at such a great school plus I could stop stressing about colleges 24/7.

My sister loves Richmond! She really wants me to go there… She loves all the professors, schools, and the weather. Also the campus is beautiful! She’s also pre-med so she’s been able to do a lot of undergrad research there and UR gives great FA too.
My friend has visited College Connecticut and Wesleyan. She liked Wesleyan better because she’s interested in musical schools and they have a really good music program. But she said both are really good it just depends on what type of vibe you want because Wesleyan is much more liberal and conn seems a little bit more uptight but I’m not sure…

That’s great! It’s pretty high on my list for sure and I’m glad she’s having a good experience there. Wesleyan seems nice but I’m not really considering applying there because of how selective they are. I like Conn College and Trinity from what I’ve learned so far though. I heard between those two Conn is the more liberal. Oh yeah I have an interview tomorrow! There’s an alumni in Houston and she was really good about being able to meet quick. I can’t get a ride downtown though so it’ll be on skype.

How did your interview go? And I just saw today that we will hear back on December 12th! I always thought it was the 15th so this is so early! Does anyone know what time we will hear back by or is that information usually released closer to the date?

It went really good! The lady I talked to was incredibly nice and we had a good conversation. Yeah I know! I saw that a while ago. I think Friday is a better day because it gives you the weekend to celebrate or cry. Only 8 days. Couldn’t find info on the time though. I’m really excited and nervous.

That’s great that it went so well!! We will know in less than a week I’m so nervous and excited! Do you think we should be receiving an email from Colby about when to check the portal?? And also do you know it financial aid is usually available online too when decisions come out?

Thanks and I know six days! I my would be nice if they emailed us but if not I’ll just be checking non stop in that 24 hour window. If you check the colby deadlines it states admissions decisions as well as aid will be posted to the portal.

Ok thanks!! And haha yeah that’s what I was planning on doing too! It looks like last year they released decisions at around 9am but I know a couple of other colleges usually release at 5pm but I hope Colby does it in the morning… The wait will be so long if it’s that late

But good luck!!! I hope we both get in!!

Yeah 5 is way too late! Although finding out in school might not be good haha and thanks I really hope so too! I was reading about their new President. He seems like a really great guy but it said how he wants to improve diversity and number of applicants. I would like Colby to be as diverse as possible but more applicants means more selectivity. He was VP at U Chicago and while there the acceptance rate went from around 40 percent to around 8 percent over an 8 year period. haha Hoping there’s not a major increase increase this year.

Oh no I didn’t know about that! The diversity aspect is great but hopefully th ED acceptance rate still stays around 50% this year! And I also heard that Colby is giving an additional $1.2 million in financial aid grants for the incoming class this year which is awesome!

I’m hoping it will be too. Their overall acceptance is pretty low so they don’t need to be too in a rush to get it down. I know I read that too! That makes me feel a bit better but I’m still worried about how much aid I need.

I applied ED1 to Colby and was notified Thursday that I’ve been accepted! I’m so excited! Good luck to everyone!

That’s great congrats! I wonder why you got the feedback so early? I’m a by worried now because I’m having trouble accessing my application status. Could you share any of your stats?

Wow congrats on getting in that’s amazing!! And I’ve also been unable to successfully log into the Colby portal recently but I’ve been able to do so in the past

Okay well at least we are in the same boat. This is the first time it didn’t work for me so maybe the sites just down.

Yeah hopefully it’s just something temporary but it really freaked me out. And also sweetthang did you hear back by email/ portal or did you get a letter in the mail?

I was having problems viewing my application status as well! I called and they said it was a system issue and IT was fixing it. I checked this morning and it’s working again! I was freaking out too Haha

That’s good! I’m still having trouble accessing the application part. Maybe it’s different now or I’m doing something wrong but i still can’t access the class of 2019 part or view my application status. Im sure figure it out by Friday though.
