Ed countdown

i love this thread! i’m so glad that everyone else is freaking out and trying to find ways to stay occupied.

holiday shopping or holiday planning! (ugh, only to add to the stress.)

(and, for a book rec: “an abundance of katherines” by john green)

hehe its 16 gloria :)

16 days, but Gloria was right in putting up thing #18. :-)

I definitely must do my holiday shopping. Will plan this month.

15 days!

19 - Try a local cuisine you haven’t tried before.

Here’s to hoping we cann all do #19 together in the city next school year! I’m afraid there aren’t too many options around here at the moment.

Barnard Class of 2014 ED Applicant Facebook group? hahaha

I don’t suggest we do that until after decisions arrive. If we make one now, it’ll basically be CC people who are in it and I really DON’T want to know your identities (I’ve been in one too many messy situations).

I agree, after is probably better. Although, I did see on facebook that a few 2014 groups already exist. I think gap year students may have made the groups? But, if all goes well, we should definitely make an ED celebration one!

choked laugh

Wow, you guys are sure setting your sights high. Like I’ve said a few times, I’m going to be in a state of panic until I find out, and I have to tell myself I won’t get in. Otherwise I’ll be CRUSHED.

14 days.
TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!!!
(Woot! December, already?)

I called the admissions office yesterday, and spoke with two officers, both of whom said the results would be mailed “ON, not before,” the 15th. I’m still hoping it’s earlier, like last year…

Ohmygosh, you’re right, it’s December as of today . . . How frightening.

So, #21. Share your favorite movie and why.

I wonder if they decisions will be available online? Do they send out any email notifications? Can you call them and ask? (Lol.) I’ll be desperately anxious.

They only send out e-mail notifications to international applicants, if it’s like the past 5 years. Residents of the USA who are accepted will get Priority Mail (big) envelopes (and not all at the same time, unfortunately!), and others will get the “small envelope” a bit later in the regular mail.

I keep thinking Barnard will join the electronic age and notify using e-mail, but unless they specifically tell you that is what they are going to do, I would assume it will be as it has been. best to you all! I do know this waiting is difficult!

Oh, and I would NOT call them to ask about this. They are incredibly busy right now!

Like churchmusicmom said, they will mail it via regular mail. It will not be online.

And just to clear my name, that was not the reason I called, but I was able to sneak in that question at the end. They are indeed busy, I had to try a few times before a phone line was free.

Oh, don’t worry. ANYONE with chocolate in their name, in ANY form, is grand in my opinion!!! :)

I just did not want to encourage a bunch of calls to the admissions office asking if notifications would be e-mailed out when I was pretty sure I could accurately answer that one.

On that, we agree. Unfortunately my REAL name does not include chocolate.

To add to today’s December 1st excitement, I’d like to point out that Barnard is hosting her holiday vendor today. What a cute idea! I really I hope I get to share those with y’all next year.

holiday Vendor FAIR*

i’m in a very french mood at the moment (i’m going to france in april with my french class and my teacher, who visited over thanksgiving, brought back pictures today) so for my current favorite movie, i’m going to say: amelie!

(also, wej, i know how panicked you feel… i made a list of reasons why i won’t get in to barnard to try to keep myself in check. ugh.)

Okay so Do you guys know if we will get out notices ON the 15th or are they being MAILED ON the 15th?
