ED deadlines

How strict are the application deadlines, i.e. if the students submitted their part, but school or teacher recommendations come in late, is it a major problem? At my daughter's ED school, they sent her a postcard saying they will notify mid November (deadline is 11/1) whether app is complete. Let's say something is missing, does that disqualify her for ED?

As long as her app has been submitted on time, having school reports or teacher recommendations arrive late isn't a problem. Your D might want to call the admissions office next Monday (10/31) to inquire about whether all the materials have arrived.

Good luck!

Our experience confirmed what Little Mother said (i.e., that late teacher/GC reports don't disqualify applicants) with one possible exception. The teacher rec. for Pomona expressly stated: "For this candidate to receive consideration for admission, this form must be received in our office by the appropriate application deadline." (D applied RD, not ED, so I don't know if the receipt by deadline requirement applied to ED; her rec arrived on time so I also don't know how strictly Pomona adheres to the receipt by deadline requirement.) I guess all of this is a long-winded way of saying that I'd be inclined to err on the safe side and double-check with the school, even though I doubt there'd be a problem. (PS - Little Mother: I think I recall that your D's at Pomona, so if I'm giving incorrect advice, fire away.)
