anyone else applying ED?

I applied ED, but last night realized that I had printed out the wrong teacher rec form and subsequently thought we only need one (as it seems on the commonapp website) so now I am really confused as to whether or not we needed one teacher rec or two...If we needed one, my application is in. If we needed two...

Found the answer to my own question: we only need one.

serious?

dangit, i thought we were supposed to send two...so i did.

...december 15th cannot come soon enough. i am fuh-reaking out.

Hah, I know what you mean. It's the first time in my life where if they say no it actually really matters, if you know what I mean.
I talked to my local admissions rep from Furman, and he said that only 1 is required, but they like two. Thank god he likes me.
If you get in, what major are you looking at? And are you going on one of those summer excursions, they sound really fun.

no, i get it. i'm so worried about it. i feel really confident about anything, but i'm (and it sounds like you are too) at the place where i've done all i can do and now i just have to...wait. haha.

okay, good. then perhaps hounding my teachers for that extra rec (one of the ones i picked for a letter was particularly forgetful) was not for naught. senioritis is killing me, in case you can't tell. the applications for the lay and hollingsworth essays were hellish, to say the least.

i'm looking at either economics or poli sci with a minor in vocal performance. i know that's intense, but it'll change, i think. if the music thing doesn't work out, i'll just audition for the FUtones, and that'd be good enough for me. are you into music at all? a'cappella ensembles, perhaps? will furman have two new FUtones in 2007? :) your prospective major(s)?

as far as summer excursions go, i'd like to take chinese so i could go on the excursion to china.

I have recently had mononucleosis, so I had a lot of time to write my applications for the Lay Scholarship, which I needed to be good to make my grades look better if you know what I mean.

Great choices in majors! I am also looking at Poli Sci or Econ. I think I'm either going to use them for Pre-Law or, call me crazy, education. I think we need more good teachers, and I would love being a soccer coach. Sorry, I don't exactly have the best singing voice outside of the shower!

For the summer excursions, I actually meant the pre-freshman trips that they have to NC and SC that are just for incoming freshmen so that you can meet new people before you go to Furman 'for real.' It sounds like a lot of fun.

My college counselor, and the Princeton Review, made it seem like Furman was a college where if you were qualified you were accepted. I sure hope that's the case! Good luck!

And now back to my 1.5 thousand hours of Calculus that I have to finish.

oh! i haven't heard about those. maybe because i live in SC, i guess? well, cool. i haven't been to north carolina in a while. haha.

ahh, calculus. i feel it, too.

So do we only have 2 ED'ers on this whole site?

i guess. i wish there were more...

i just got notification today that my lay application was received. how about you?

If you mean notification through the mail, I haven't recieved that. But I use the application and scholarship status checker on the website and it said the moment I submitted it that it was in. Good luck!

it won't work for me, for some reason...

they didn't send me a username/password/whatever...

That's too bad.

So excited for Dec 15th!

Reading the journals on the website become addicting..

Got the thing in the mail that you were talking about that had to do with Herman Lay Scholarships

Ok now I'm freaking out. Check online and they say my application is incomplete. I check my online apps and they are both complete. Nervous!

W T F.

i'd go ahead and give them a call and see what's going down over there in greenville.

I sent my local rep an e-mail. If he doesn't send me something back by tomorrow, I will. It must be teacher rec related.

It is my teacher rec, but it seems like it still hasn't gotten there! I am starting to get nervous!

Thank god, it just took them a long time to process. It's all there. Hope there isnt this much anxiety on the 15th!

dudeeeeeee, furman. send me stuff.

geez, why can't they just send us some nice, big, fat checks?

grrrrr.
