ED Furmanites?

I'm glad to here several of you are interested in political science. I am a junior poli sci major at Furman. Furman has one of the top undergraduate political science department in the nation, among both colleges and universities. When I say "top" I mean easily top 10, and I get the feeling from talking to grad schools that we are in the top 5! It is an amazing department! If anyone has any questions please feel free to message me. I am also on a scholarship at Furman, so if any of you have questions regarding those processes, please feel free to message me.

My father was researching the Riley Institute and it was the first team he really sounded excited for me to go to college (and to have to spend money!). I really hope everything works out for both of us, milady!

the riley institute is seperate from the department and is focused on issues of education.

^^ word, kid.

send us checks, furmannnn.

i've concluded that furman is a tease. they're gonna send out those letters when we're right at our wits' ends. i'll probably be in the looney bin by december 15th.

gahhhh.

I'm in Greeneville right now. Finally getting to see Furman for myself!

yay!!

i'll be at furman tomorrow for my music audition...gahhhh.

tell me how you like it!

Best experience of my life.

yay!

did you sit in on any classes? where did you visit? your favorite thing about furman?

december freaking fifteenth...

Sat in on a polysci class (not sure which one). Met with some professors. Cant say just one favorite thing. It was incredible.

Best wishes to all of you ED applicants. I know the next few days will be very long and very stressful. Senior year is rough, but I am sure all of you will get through with flying colors. If you have any other questions or concerns about Furman, feel free to let you know. If I can't answer it, I will direct you to the appropriate person. Andrew

Checking your status online or waiting for the fateful letter milady?

fateful letter.

and i got one. yahoo!

stay tuned, kids! in the next episode, milady will (hopefully) beast her interview...

-collective gulp-

Interview? Did you already get an admissions decision?

yes, interview.

and yes. technically, it was an e-mail, but, the vehicle of communication notwithstanding, i was accepted.

you better let me know when you get yours. after all, we've been suffering together for the past three weeks. you'll get in. :)

Haha. That kindof scares me that I didn't get an e-mail. How did that come about? Are you applying for a music scholarship or something?

well, i got an email b/c i was invited to interview for a hollingsworth scholarship (and that's only for SC residents), and if you're a finalist, you're accepted.

and i did apply for a music scholarship, but i don't think i'll find out about any music money until offers come out.

hey, definitely talk to HOBYNC, though. he knows A LOT more than i do about what admissions is up to. he was really good about answering my questions, even though i had so many i probably drove him crazy.

don't WORRY, okay? we'll both be paladins in the fall! :)

i really hope so. i got the scariest letter from my admissions officer. i thought it was deferral. thank god! i hd my parents freaked out!

what did the letter say?!

It was just talking about my visit and hoping I had a good time. Freaked me out, though, because it was too small to be an acceptance letter!

hahahhahahahah! we're both messes. look at the two of us.

on a lighter note, i finished my duke application, so that's one more thing off my mind. now i just have to submit it...it's always hard for me to press the "submit" button... you know what i mean?
