Ok not to make people freak out more than they are already freaking out...but on the facebook group "Vassar 12" there are a few people who have received acceptances...!

letters were sent on the 13th.

We didn't get anything yesterday, and we live about 2 hours from Vassar. Were only acceptances sent out, or all the letters?

sending out only acceptances just seems absolutely rude

Yes, especially since the deferred or rejected kids have some applications they need to finish up! :)

Just back from the Post Office - nothing in our mail today. Son has to grit his teeth, and wait until Monday. At least he is skiing today!!
Have a good weekend, all!!

Hey adigal, where do you live?

I also live two hours away as well, in New Jersey.

Acceptance for my D in suburban Phila. today, Saturday. Very excited, very relieved. Good luck to everyone!

alternamom:

Such wonderful news! Last year my D received here ED1 admission letter and she still enjoys talking about it! Can you describe the envelope it came in this year? Congratulations again!

Well, my mail will not come until this afternoon, but I awoke this morning to a very surprising admissions email from Lewis and Clark! I got in! I applied EA to Lewis and Clark and am very glad I got in (it's my safety school.)

Maybe it's a sign for good things to come from Vassar? Or just something to numb the pain (haha)

We'll find out soon! Can't wait!

crossing fingers that the letter has reached iowa (the frozen center of the earth)

Why, oh why, does the mail get to Philadelphia, and not two hours north of Poughkeespie?? I am thinking that since everyone who lives close and heard already got in, maybe they delayed sending the rejections? If sent Thursday, his letter should have been here already, and he needs to know, in case he did get in - he has to pull his other apps, especially an EDII one.

someone in NJ just got a rejection. They were all sent out.

I didn't get in either, I'm in Philadelphia :( Good luck to the rest of you!!

Oberlin and Conn College here I come...

Mairoula,
My son is going EDII at Conn College if he doesn't make Vassar. That was his first choice until he saw Vassar, and I still do think it might be a better fit for him. I loved the school, loved the tour guide and the people in the offices are so very nice whenever I have to call.

Things will work out for the best for you. I tend to think that things work out as they should, and Conn College and Oberlin are great!!!

S got his letter around noon-- he's in! Lots of relief and happiness all around. Truly, all's well that ends well. WHEW!!

My daughter got in! While great scores and rank, I believe the reason was "Why Vassar" essay drawing upon her initiative to arrange and meet with history chairman. Proud Old Bridge, NJ dad.

I GOT IN!
i'm from new jersey. i guess new jersey people are all hearing. i'm SO EXCITED. congrats to everyone getting in. excited to meet the class of 2012.

Must wait till Monday (Grumpy Face)

I got in this afternoon! I still can't believe it---I am so excited!
Congrats to everyone who got in, and for those looking at Conn College and Oberlin---sadly I live too far away to have ever seen Oberlin, but Conn is a really awesome place!! I go to a school that's practically on top of it, which is the only reason I didn't look there for college (wanted to get further from home). But my cousin went there and loved it, and some of my friends have taken great courses on campus.
Good luck to everyone :)
