Hey guys, i just wanted to give a little message to ed'ers considering all the countdown stuff ive seen today. Everybody seems to be anxiously waiting for their outcomes and some people have started their own "bedroom countdowns" on their walls, haha. Yet i have a feeling more than half of you will be dissapointed by the outcome in a couple of weeks so id like to offer a word of condolensce. This may seem a bit premature yet i can tell the level of enthusiasm is high and hope is on high as well, so i have a feeling it will be a sense of despair when some of you get your letters of rejections/defferals. I couldnt help but post this thread because although i hope and sympathize with all of you about dec.15 or w.e. it may be, i hope all those that get rejected/deffered do not give up in your college hunt. Im only a junior in high school and im already scared of being in the position you guys are in. Having your fate decided by a couple of people in an office is not an easy thing to handle, and i seroiusly feel your anxiety. Anyway best of luck to all of you!

Any suggestions as to how to keep away from all this college stuff (and THIS FORUM!) for the next 10-15 days?
I'm having trouble doing schoolwork... I have an essay assigned two weeks ago due in 3 days and haven't started reading my book!

Think about it this way: everythings in, theres nothing more you can do, so just sit back and RELAX ! These next two weeks will go by quickly, but if u need a distraction read or watch tv or something. You guys will all get in somewhere good :-)

unfortunately, that "something" is eating for me. I have always been lower side of normal-weight my whole life, and now when i sit i can feel my stomach!!
i gotta start workin out as soon as i get my decision

As someone who went through this last year (and is about to again now :D ) I can give you this very useful tip:
Start working on your other apps. It is a good distraction, and it'll even be more fun, now that you already know what to write, what you regret doing in your ED app, or have any new ideas about what to write. Plus, if the worst happens, you'll have a head start on your other apps, and extra time usually results in a better app/essay.
Start researching other schools. No matter how much you love your fisrt-choice, I'm certain you'll find other good matches.
This will all make it a lot easier if you won't get in.

I second negru's comments. Out here in Calif, once EA/ED apps were sent Nov 1, seniors spent the next 30 days working on UC apps, which are due Nov 30. As a result, there is little time to think about that dream school.

I agree with negru, but I'm too lazy to start my apps before I know for sure...I only applied to my state college because Dec 1 is the deadline for scholarship consideration

start obsessing over a significant other or hoping to be significant other to take your mind off whatever... i have this huge crush on a guy right now, and that seems to put my mind at ease :)
