<p>I'm applying to College of Engineering and CAS. Engineering is my first-choice.
However, if i get rejected from engineering and get into CAS as a ED, do i still have to go there because it's ED? In other words, is it binding? </p>

<p>You have to go to whichever college you're accepted via ED.</p>
<p>In practice, absolutely no students get admitted to the alternate college ED. Typically the first college wants to look at you again during the RD round before they send you over to your second choice college.</p>
