Has anyone ever been admitted to their Cornell ALTERNATE-CHOICE college?

I just searched the forum for threads on the primary-alternate choice conundrum, and there are 100 pages worth! So here's my question: Does anyone here actually KNOW someone who was admitted to his/her alternate-choice college at Cornell? And if so, which were the two schools at Cornell and what were the circumstances?

Thank you.

My daughter was admitted into the CoE as her alternate, applies CAS

Interesting. When was this? And why do you think this happened? It would seem that engineering would want students who list it as a primary.

Female engineering students are in higher demand, since it’s a male dominated field.

Good point.

Anyone else?

Just bumping this up for the more recent crowd.

Bump, im curious as well

Another bump, also curious.

Do you mean she was not admitted to CAS but was admitted to alternate? Or she was offered both- a choice?

Applicants are not offerred a choice under primary/alternate admissions system at Cornell.

Alternate choice school only sees application if primary choice rejects applicant, but primary choice can read essays for both schools.

ok thanks
