marieclare - Don’t try to read things into verbiage of error messages. The best anyone can offer you is speculation or rumor. You’re almost there! I remember this week so well from a couple of years ago. Good luck to you and the others stalking their mailboxes. I hope you get good news - but wait for official word from the school.

marieclare- I got the same message… :/

I get “Payment not allowed at this time” I doubt that means anything, but it is odd that we are getting different messages.

PAV, where in PA are you? You said your daughter got her USPS Priority package on the 14th, which was a Tuesday. I know a current freshman at UR got her ED acceptance package in Northern Virginia on Monday the 13th – am wondering if it took an extra day to get to your daughter because of where you are in the state (I’m pretty sure for example, that to get to Philly, it would take the same time as to get to us here in No. Va.). And . . I think that’s why my daughter’s friend got her letter (which was unfortunately a rejection) already - the regular mail from Richmond to No Va. should only be one day, whereas USPS Priority takes either 2-3 days, not 1, no matter the distance. And I think that’s why there are no fb members yet – no acceptances will arrive til Monday at the earliest. This is my working theory, anyway, who knows if it is right – if it is, it still doesn’t explain why there was no tweet on Friday, like there was last year. I am stressing about this more than my daughter . . . she has no second choice. Again, good luck to all!

This is so stressful! I know that I am over analyzing everything but it is hard not to. I do not understand why there would be two types of error messages. I do know from reading past years threads that those that got the “account error: you are not set up for payment etc etc”, were either defferred or denied…so I can only assume that the “payment not at this time” could be good news for those people. I know that they fixed the system to not prompt payment but the fact that people are getting different responses would leave me to believe that the responses mean two different things. I am sorry if I am over thinking this, it is just hard not to speculate… What are everyones banner web saying??

Do you mean regular bannerweb? It hasn’t changed at all for me. Still has my application and everything on it. But I feel your pain, I am also over analyzing everything! Wish the admission’s office would tweet or post something about sending out letters! Good luck though!

my regular bannerweb just said my application stuff too, but i went into the admitted students tab and it asks for ID and last name. When I tried to make a deposit it said -payment not available at this time- I wouldnt look too much into this or stress out about it too much. Only a day or two left before we’ll all know. Good luck to everyone!!

I’m sorry you’re so stressed, marieclare, but definitely understand. We cannot get in thru clicking on bannerweb on the top ribbon - we screwed up our login info and it shut us out of the system completely. But when I went to the UR Undergrad Admissions page, and clicked on admitted students and entered my daughters 8 digit number and last name, it said “Payment Not Allowed
Sorry, payment option is not allowed at this moment.” I know this could justify your theory (that the two different messages mean something) OR it could be something technical - maybe which browser you are using or something like that. I know it’s hard but try not to put too much stock into all this stuff until you hear something from the school. . . .

Yeah and there seems to be too high amount of people who are getting payment not allowed to justify a theory. It should be 50/50 or less. Unless there is some sort of bias of people who use this site. I don’t know what to think but hopefully by some miracle the letters will arrive tomorrow.

I saw the admitted students page about 10 minutes after it came up and flipped out because I had not gotten a letter or email(also Friday was the UPenn results day and only 2 people from my school got in out of 53 ED candidates so i was in that college rejection state of mind). I typed my stuff in the payment section and it said account error junk. Then i got all angry and confused cause i had read the posts from last year. Then i tried again after 15 minutes of extreme depression and it took me to the payment page and it gave the “Sorry payment not allowed yet” message that most people have been getting so then i got excited. I know we are all waiting for the admissions to tweet or blog but has anyone actually tried calling yet? They may be the best way to clarify this mess. And the one person who said they had a friend who had gotten the letter are they sure that person got a actual letter? or are they just taking guesses at rumors like the rest of us? SO MUCH STRESS!

@Rmeesbs - we are in York County, PA. My daughter got her USPS Priority envelope on Monday, December 14, 2009. That year @URAdmissions tweeted that letters went out on Thursday or Friday the previous week. You should be doing what we did…pace the living room and try not to read anything in to rumors you hear.

I am the parent of the applicant whose friend got the reject letter. I asked my daughter to have her friend clarify - did she really get a letter or was she just assuming she got a letter? Although my daughter didn’t want to press too hard (for obvious reasons), the answer was that she got a snail mail letter in her mailbox yesterday from UR addressed to her saying she had been rejected. She is in Northern Virginia which, if USPS is on its game, should take one day snail mail from Richmond. We do not know of anyone else who applied early this year other than my daughter and her friend so we don’t have anything else to go on. However, my daughter has been in close contact with a current UR freshman who applied and was accepted last year. Her boyfriend is a freshman at UR too, and he applied ED and was deferred, then admitted. She received her ED acceptance package last year on Monday the 13th; he received his deferred letter via snail mail, though I don’t know what day. I don’t know what the situation was with either of them with regard to trying to get info thru the deposit system. And we have a good friend – phenomenal AP only student, varsity football player – who was rejected from UPenn on Friday, so we know what you mean about reject mode. GOOD LUCK!!!

@PAV - I thought you had this delightful experience in 2010, not 2009. thanks for clarifying. and i know you are right - none of this means a thing til you get a letter one way or the other, but if nothing else, it helps pass the time . . . ;-)

letters were to be mailed on sat dec the 10th by US Mail priority flat rate shipping it comes in an envelope that is about the size of a folder and in that folder has the acceptance letter and info for the future spiders… i can not speak to what rejects letters look like or when they will be mailed. my assumption is that they are mailed in an envelope not a folder type thing. good luck. letters should be arriving on monday by the us postal service

they just tweeted: they were mailed on friday

Where did you find the tweet? I’ve been stalking the urichmond feed religiously and have seen nothing over the past week…

Uradmission just tweeted it

Finally, I am extremely excited. Im guessing tomorrow morning the deposit site will be live so we can check before we leave for school.

AHHHH! can’t wait. I’m waking up at midnight to check if the site changes from Sunday to Monday! Good luck everyone

Hi, Please post UR ED Tweet quote & info where to find. I see nothing. Thanks.
