ED response from college

If a college gives Dec 15 as the date for responding to an ED application, do they mean "by Dec 15", "on Dec 15" or "after Dec 15"?

Thanks.

it think the decision will be come out on dec 15...online...

Most of the time is by Dec 15. Many schools have surprised people by sending it out early. Stay on CC. You will find out first here. I found a back door to get into a school admitted web site before it was open to the public through CC (12 hours before). I also found out a school that my daughter was waisted on was taking people off the waitlist before her GC.

backdoooooooooor?

Besides the obvious ethical issues (I wouldn't do it) many kids find out early about how to get their status early- and, if the school finds out, they may reject you. Such as when a poster named brookbond found a loophole in Harvard Business School's system.

The company, ApplyYourself, is used for a lot of online decisions sites. While it appears to be possible to get your ED status early (at least, it was in 2005), I wouldn't advise it- those that didn't throw out the apps w/ hacked decisions in 2005 required full explanations from kids and graded them harshly (other schools were affected).

Long story short, it's against my ethics, and even if it wasn't, it leaves an easy trail for the school to follow and deny you...

I reported it to the school. Their IT department should have been more careful. They shut it down after they realized their msitake. Nice to know that you have such great ethics.
