ED Results

the 9th??? i always thought the official day was the 15th but they sent them out a few days earlier, probably the 13th...is it really that early?

omg Im so freakin' scared, northwestern is like my dream school, a student from minority affairs called(ecouraging me to visit n stuff) and she said northwestern sent her decision early.

heyy has anyone called in to check how many ED applicants there are and when they send the decision letters out? i'm so lazyy

nose goes...

ok, I called in and asked the lady when they mail out decisions, when we can check online, and how many ED applicants there were, and she told me that decisions come out on December 15th. I was like, OH REEEALLY!

I bet that's what they tell everyone. If history is accurate, results will be available online. I assume that would be the same link to applicnt services which notifies us the status of our application.

I guess it would be good to start checking next Friday.

No kidding, I didn't think the lady was trying to shut me down; it was rather disappointing since many other schools give more details around this time. I realize NU puts up results online a few days before the actual mail arrives, hence the question, "when can we check online," which the lady didn't really answer. I don't know why you're talking about history being accurate. It's not like they're going to change their ways all of the sudden this year.

I hope everyone here gets in. I think we deserve it. ;)

Less than two weeks and we will all know if we are going to be spending next fall in Evanston. I cannot wait. Good Luck to everyone. By the way, just out of curiosity did anyone here apply to michigan, Indiana, or UNC.

I applied to UMich.

if we all get in (which I hope we do) then we should all start a blogring or something and talk.

i applied (okay okay will apply this weekend) to umich, which, if i don't get into NU, i'll probably go there. unless i get into duke or upenn, which won't happen anyway.

I'm getting really lazy with Michigan...I should get to work on that app. :)

yea NU is the only place ive applied to so far. UIUC is my safety, but the app isnt due til jan 15th...so im gonna wait for my NU decision before i complete the UIUC app. is that a bad idea?

btw, man i hope i get into northwestern lol. -nervous-

I only applied to NU.

it's better to get your other apps done before just so you don't have to rush and deal with the whole rejection thing at once.

anyway, this is kind of jumping ahead, but anyone know where they'd want to live? willard looks the best to me, because i like the residential college idea and i want a social dorm, but i've heard bad things about it, too. hmmm i dunno

i only applied to NU and UIUC too! so far, at least. I got in to U of I rolling admissions, so I have that in the bag but it's really not where I want to go. If I don't get into NU I'm applying to UMich, where I'll probably get in and go (also wesleyan in connecticut, cornell, duke, USC and pomona but those are all pretty difficult.)

Are NU, U of Chicago, UIUC, and Michigan really popular in the midwest? Do most kids apply to those schools?

seeing as how i'm from chicago...

a lot of my friends applied to UIUC (including me) because it's a much cheaper option (being in state and all) plus it gives a good education, especially for a state school. the engineering program is incredible. A lot of people apply to U of M because it's arguably the best school in the Big 10. everyone i know that goes there loves it. i actually don't know that many people who are applying to U of C. I have a friend who's a freshman there and she doesn't like it, she says there's no social life.

a lot of my friends who aren't necessarily U of M/NU/U of C material apply to Indiana (because it's a really fun campus) Madison (same reason, but a better school if you ask me) Iowa (it's a huge safety for most people) and Kansas (okay, i don't really know why, but people do.)

Hey guys, I'm from Texas and applied ED. I'm freaking out.

God, it'll feel so good if I get in.

lehabanahannah- you think that U of M is better than NU? Also, how much different admission wise can U of M be from uw-m? Why does one Chicago kid pick U of M or another uw-M? They are pretty similiar. Finally, why would one choose Michigan over UIUC with the in state tuition? I mean, they are both big state schools in college towns with similiar student bodies intelligence wise (HS GPA/ACT breakdowns are nearly identical)

I'm curious about your chi-town perspective
