I heard that if you applied ED and got in jhu will reward you with a 10,000 scholarship?....

Is there any truth behind this?

Ha, absolutely not. More like $1,200 for financial aid.

That would be AWESOME.

I believe we all get put into the Hodson Trust scholarship, but RD applicants do too.

even if i didn't orginally apply for financial aid?

i got 40000

where do people come up with these rumors?

Z3, that's a joke, right? You didn't really get $40,000?

OK, another classic thread. Honestly, HiMoz is right, "Where do people come up with these rumors."

shampooiam, just do the math - $10,000 scholarship X 478 admitted ED students equals = $4,780,000. Do you really think Hopkins will spend almost 5 million dollars of scholarship budget on students already committeed to enroll.

and the $1,200 is not true either. There is no special financial aid for ED students -- they get the same packages of aid and are eligible for the same scholarships.

^^What's the $1,200 then? I was assuming everyone who applied ED got that much because on my financial aid package, it mentioned something about ED.

isn't 1200 the federal LOAN amount?

the $1,200 only mentioned ED because the package is tentative until you file the FAFSA and send your taxes -- then you will get your official package and the ED note will no longer be there

I got a 30k ED grant =]
