I mean you could get in you’re in all the ranges. If the essays and recs are as good as you say I’d say you have a good shot.

As they say, never assume your recs or essays are amazing unless you’ve seen the recs yourself or at least a half dozen sources have called your essays “amazing”. Due to your relatively weak academics, though you do have decent test scores, Brown ED is still going to be a reach. You’re competitive, yes, but it could be better.

I don’t think the OP is competitive.

U.W. GPA: 3.75 (I sucks at grades, lolz )- Yes. But depends on your school.
W GPA: 4.63 (Aice are at 5.0 scale, as are AP)- Good.
Class Rank: 34/688 (top 5%)- Good.
Sat:2250 (Math 800, Writing 720, Reading 730)- Average.
Hook(s): Low income… This is not much of a hook.
President of SADD club Junior Year (VP sophomore). Free-lance web design/computer programming, Eagle Scout, Job 30hrs a week. I have more, but will not list all.

Community Service: 450 hours
Internships: Advertising Graphics Design Internship, Web Development Internship (Radio Station), Medical internship at local hospital, Summer@Brown Medical summer program
^Please list more, because right now, it is pretty mediocre. (ECs.)

Your internships are pretty good.
I’d say a reach.

Additional EC’s: Started my own eBay business, Tutor on weekends,
The reason that I don’t have so many impressive EC’s is because I have to work all of the time. I work 30+ hours a week to help pay for basic necessities (mom lost job)

your last post could be your compelling essay story (but make sure it sounds inspirational rather than an excuse)… try to push up your SAT scores (for RD u have time, for ED - u don’t).

Otherwise you have great chances. Also, your interns and summer activities will be weighed heavily as far as I feel.

Brown will see your demonstrated interest too.

Your SAT scores are fine, they’re above the middle 50% at Brown. Sure, they could always be better, but once you pass ~2200 it doesn’t make a huge difference

^Blatantly wrong and misleading.

I’m re-taking next week. I’ve been studying and hopefully will get ~2330-2350. Will that make a significant difference?

a big yessssssssssssss

Why are you graduating early? You will have a much better shot at selective colleges with a year and a half of straight As in tough classes and some development of ECs.

I don’t see you as competitive for Brown now.

[Brown Admission: Facts & Figures](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University)

^^I completely understand, but I have extenuating circumstances.
I am looking for ~40% chances. Is that reasonable

Poly sosophy. I’m in the exact same boat. I always get “you have no leader ship” but i’ve worked at the same job since 8th grade for 30hrs a week. I don’t really have time to spend at clubs and such.

haha. People on CC say “need some more EC’s”; People in real life say “how do you do it all?” I probably need better EC’s, but I can’t change that now.

Look at the facts and figures above. Factually, your chance is nowhere near 40%.

oh well, maybe you guys are right. I probably don’t have a good shot. I will apply and get into a good college somewhere. CC, where hopeless dreams come to die. lol
