Ed

i know the admit rate is ~50%, but how much of those are athletes and/or legaices?

also, do you think financial restrictions should stop me from applying ED?

one last thing- do you think (as a very low income student) i would feel out of place with such an affluent student body?

<a href="http://www2.davidson.edu/administration/admin_docs/0506cds_H.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www2.davidson.edu/administration/admin_docs/0506cds_H.pdf</a></p>

Approximately 1/3 of the student body had financial need, so Davidson's student body is fairly affluent. As with any top school, though, you have a good mix of people from all sorts of different backgrounds. Duke draws a very similar crowd, and I haven't felt uncomfortable at all.

If financial aid is a major issue, I would strongly advise against applying ED, even if it is your first choice. The ability to compare offers is essential because you're likely to get a range of offers. Some colleges can be hit-or-miss in financial aid, so it's awkward to be locked into ED. Applying ED is likely to limit your chances at a merit scholarship. I was pretty unhappy with my offer from Davidson, but they were pretty helpful about revising it.
