@sallywu I am wondering the same thing!
Maybe I am very optimistic, but I can’t imagine a school would charge $600 to non admits, that would just be mean. My son also tried the night the letters went out and it didn’t work, and then he tried today and it did so I am thinking they set that page up for today when people started to find out.
Everyone who was able to log in to pay the deposit would be an accepted student. When I tried last night I wasn’t able to get in, when I tried today I was able to get in and my daughter;s letter arrived today.
Anyone willing to share their stats if accepted?
Anybody else wonder why UR is releasing admissions for EA so late?
My daughter is strongly considering Richmond as a top choice but in that she won’t hear back until late January, it is a anomaly for early admissions.
It would be VERY nice to know BEFORE she spends too much time on RD apps–but I guess they have their reasons…all 6 of her other EA’s come in on or before the 20th of December.
yes that is what I think
It didn’t work for us so hopefully she was deferred and not rejected. Congrats to all of you
@class22mom did she try recently?
Yes this morning. We are in PA and haven’t heard yet, but she was right on the line of what they would accept. She has a 3.7 GPA most of her classes are honors / AP she has been Captain in 2 sports, her SAT was weak, in writing, but awesome in Math. She is not a great test taker, but her 1st quarter grades were 3 A’s and B (AP Calc) and she has a senior course load that is diverse. Her Essay was extremely difficult to write (her obstacle was describing the impact of losing her dad so young), but I thought it was good. She had a strong recommendation from her Principal and Coach. So, we were hopeful, but maybe she was deferred to regular decision.
@class22mom I wish you and your daughter the best of luck, hopefully it is a deferral. The dean of admissions was quoted in a higher ed article as saying that they have received 5700 EA applications. The regular decision pool must be smaller as a result of kids switching to EA applications. They can’t take everyone early. I wonder if they are deferring more kids as a result.
Yeah I am not sure. With her grades, recommendations and Germany exchange we thought she had a much better shot. If they don’t take her we will find a school that thinks she is the right fit for them and she will do great. On to New England Schools ( her next 3 choices) Bowdoin doesn’t look at SAT so it is truly more holistic than Richmond. Although, her new SAT scores came in today and were well in line with Richmond.
Has anyone heard back yet?
STILL waiting for the mail!
We are in California with no letter
My daughter was able to get to the banner page where you can pay your deposit but seems odd that there is nothing in writing that says, “you’re in!”
After my son put in the deposit, he got an email the next day saying welcome to Richmond your deposit has been applied… He also received a letter via email showing all of the students who accepted so far. So after you send the deposit it takes about 24 hours to get that welcome email. We still haven’t gotten a letter because we don’t live close
My letter should come today… are we sure that being able to log into the deposit site means you got in?
My daughter was able to log into the deposit site and received her acceptance yesterday!!
DS is in. So thankful!
We still didn’t get letter. We could log on to payment page. Did anyone not get in who was able to log on to payment?
How stressful! Where do you live?
