lol i just realized how unwarranted that post was. Alright so the question is can you afford Bowdoin if you were to be accepted. If you can, go for it , but if you can't I'd reconsider. Applying Ed really doesn't boost your chances too much. If you're a strong candidate ED, you'll be one RD. Chances getting in ED2 are usually higher, but there are always anomalies.

And, hey, what are the chances for an international student there? Isn't bowdoin supposed to be need-blind for financial aid, tho it has very limited funds for international students?

I knew alot of strong students who were rejected ed. For example I was accepted, but compared to the other students I was pretty low caliber, I had awful sats (1890/2400) and took only 2 ap courses and was accepted, whereas a few people 2200+ sats, 5+ APs, and high gpas were rejected. So there always are anamolies in the admissions.

International admissions is pretty competitive, so the student has to overall strong in ecs, school, and personality. They are needblind when it comes to admissions and thier aid packages are real good. However for students stuck in the middle class crunch, we get screwed over real fast. For example despite the fact that my father had a temp job, from which he was fired recently, and we had 5 member family, with a medium income, we qualified for absolutely no aid, outside of ridiculous loans with horrible rates. But a friend of mine got a real good package of 30k a year, whose families gross income was a little less than ours. So financial aid is awesome if you get it, but real crappy if you don't qualify which ends up being many families.
