EDII: Post your decisions!

People should be getting them in the next couple weeks, just thought I'd make this thread for speculation, and finally for sharing your decision, excitement, or disappointment (hopefully not that).

Maybe we can wake this same thread up for when RD people get their decisions too.

Happy waiting!

P.S. Yeah, I really am this anxious!

Hey, yeah I am really nervously waiting a decision. Does anyone know when they get sent out? I think last year people started getting them on the 8th.

Hopefully we will be at school together next year!

So we'll only find out via snail-mail, then?

yeah, i was wondering if it would be posted on the app status site.

just wondering, how fast does carleton generally respond to emails? i emailed them once back in january, and i never got a response. but, i basically figured it out myself so i didn't really care that i wasn't answered. however, i emailed them early yesterday morning with an urgent question and i haven't heard back yet. i can see why they might be slow in january because they probably receive a ton of questions, but how fast can i expect a response now, in february? it's pretty important.

same here andreaaa i myself sent them an urgent mail day before yesterday and they still haven't replied.

also when did you guys get your status check letters?
i still haven't got mine but i got my finaid mail two days ago(dated 30th jan)- and it was sent on a slightly wrong address- luckily the postman recognized my fathers name and got the letter to us.
i think thats since the the status check letter must have been addressed to me- it probably must have been returned.

i never got a status check letter.

or a financial aid letter, for that matter. uggggh.

Call them! The school administratively is generally wonderfully helpful but responds best to direct contact. Emails to most colleges, especially to admission offices, can take weeks to yield responses.

so you guys too haven't been able to check your carleton application status?

Well, I got nothing today. I was so nervous opening my mailbox haha. Hopefully tomorrow!

whaaa? don't they make decisions on 2/15??

I was accepted today =)

hey, ellano, what did the letter look like? was it big? congrats by the way... hope to see you next year, maybe we can be roommates. :)

also, you people above should (and should HAVE long ago) called them. emailing urgent questions is a BAD idea. call them if you need something.

i filled out the preliminary app in august and recieved the letter in november.

i am going to die if i dont get the letter tomorrow . . . then i'll have to wait all of sunday until monday, or even, even later!!

i got a reply from them today...

congrats ellano284! and best of luck cowbell666....

Thanks everyone.

The letter comes in a big envelope. Then, there is a very nice dark blue folder inside that is closed with a golden seal, or something like that. Inside of that folder is the acceptance letter.

Best of luck to all of you.

._____________.

I guess ED2 is different than ED1, how ED1 the results are out on a designated date.

contrats ellano. I didn't get anything from Carleton today, guess I'll have to wait through the weekend XP

Big envelope is here, daughter's not back until tonight. If your description of the meaning of the big envelope is right she'll be so happy.

BTW, we emailed admissions twice and got responses 2 days later on both. I'd definitely call if it's something you need right away.

Congrats ellano and kcphobo's D! That's great news!

omg that is so exciting. You must be so proud =]
