EDII: Stern or CAS?

Hi so I am sort of undecided between the two and I wanted to know what the CC community has to say about my chances.
If I apply to Stern, I am interested in majoring in Marketing and International Business, and if I apply to CAS, I am interested in majoring in Psychology and International Relations.

SAT: 2190 (one sitting) CR: 730 M: 660 M W: 800

GPA: 3.6 UW/ 4.4 W Junior Year
(the only GPA that will show up on my transcript is my junior year weighted GPA, although my grades from Freshman/sophomore year will also be there)

SAT II: Lit: 660, but I retook it in December and also took Math I (I will only send if these scores are good)

AP: Psych (5), English Lang (5), Macro (4), Euro (4)
Senior Year: 5 APs

Recommendations: AP English Lang teacher, Japanese teacher, Piano teacher. Also a reference letter from a summer internship.

ECs:
Many Piano ECs (including performing at Carnegie Hall)
250+ hours of community service for a non-profit organization
2 week internship at financial trading company in NYC over the summer
National Honors Society
Music Honors Society
JV Tennis for 2 years
Model United Nations
Habitat for Humanity

Other:
Trilingual
Not asking for financial aid (possibly helpful for admissions?)
White female from NY

I would say you have a good shot at Stern, although your two major choices between CAS and Stern are similar yet different. Do you already know what it is that you want to do for a career? You could do double major in marketing and international business, while minoring in psych. However, if you attended CAS you would not have the option to minor in Stern fields, so that might be something to think about.

I’m not sure if you can double major in psych and IR. IR is a very demanding major, on top of the fact that you need a 3.65 to be in the major, it’s the same thing as double majoring in politics and economics and minoring in some form of area studies.

i would say u have a decent chance at stern but an extremely good chance at CAS. this is what u have to think about. are u willing to risk ur chance of getting into nyu by applying to stern? cuz if u apply to stern it might be really hard to get into, but if u apply CAS ur basically guaranteed in i would say, given u write good essays. so i think u should think about that, along with what u really wanna do in the future…

thanks everyone for all of the advice! i thought it over and decided to apply for CAS, because i wasnt sure about business school, and didnt want to risk my chance of getting into NYU. i’m crossing my fingers that i get in now.
