hey, i'm going to depaul university next year and i'm majoring in spanish education. anyone else here an education (or spanish) major in college? if so, could you tell me what your schedule is like? i just want some sort of idea about what i should expect.
thanks!

Have you tried your college’s counselors or website. Sometimes they offer mock schedules/advising sheets.

It really depends on your school and its requirements…there should be a place on school website where they talk about course requirements for each major so that would give you an idea of what classes you’re going to be taking and sometimes when you’d take them.

like hj said, it depends on your school’s requirements. For example, I’m in el. ed. at my school and starting second semester freshman year you are required to do 20 hours per semester minimum of fieldwork in a classroom (not just observing, but actually participating. I’m teaching my first lesson in a couple of weeks). We’re the only school in the area that puts people out there so early.
And it also depends on the state you’re getting certified in. Different states have different requirements. So look into that as well. Also make sure you know whether or not you have to pass a certification exam before you graduate. I have to pass the PRAXIS before my junior year and my friend who is getting certified in MA has to pass three or four different MTEL exams this summer, before sophomore year. Neither of us can continue in education without passing scores.
