Education major in UCR?

Hey guys it seems that there really isn't an undergraduate education major for freshmen in UCR :(
What should I do if I want to pursue a life in education?

Hi confusedfish!

At UCR, students can major in their subject of choice (for example, if you wanted to teach English, you’d major in English) and then pursue their teaching credential after their undergrad years. We offer an accelerated program that allows grad students to pursue their master’s and teaching credentials simultaneously (both of which you’ll need to teach).

Here’s more information about our grad school of education: [Graduate School of Education: Future Students](http://education.ucr.edu/future-students.html)

I’m almost positive that other graduate schools/teacher credential programs allow their students to come in with any major and then pursue their credential. I think majoring in your chosen field would be way more interesting than majoring in education, anyway. You’ll be studying what you love!
