Education Masters Degree NYC

For NYC teachers/principals or people who know NYC teachers/principals: Is getting a masters in teaching (for someone who does not have an undergraduate teaching degree) at Columbia Teachers College or Bank Street or NYU better than getting a masters at CUNY for hiring purposes? The cost difference is significant.

I don’t know if significantly better, but the connections ARE significantly better. My other half just graduated from Bank St. this past spring; absolutely loved the program. Had many job offers and worked at a top private school in NYC for several years.

Thanks! Was the private school before or after graduating from Bank Street? Do you know if classmates who were not working as teachers before they went to Bank Street were as lucky with job search?

Didn’t work as a teacher before grad school; you work during grad school. And yes, people got jobs at Avenues, bank st., trinity, collegiate, etc.
